Finding your way around the clinic portal

The sidebar is grouped by the job in hand; the top bar always carries your notifications, on every screen size.

The clinic portal has the same two pieces of chrome on every page: a sidebar for moving between sections, and a bar across the top that is always there, whatever size screen you're on.

The sidebar groups

Pages are grouped by the job you're doing, not by when they were built:

GroupPages
(top, ungrouped)Overview
Daily workSchedule, Appointments, Patients
MoneyFinancial, Insurance
StockInventory, Suppliers, Orders
TeamStaff, HR
ClinicServices, Rooms, Forms, Posts, Clinic settings

Overview sits outside every group on purpose — it's where the portal opens, and it stays one click away.

A folded group still tells you where you are

Whichever group holds the page you're currently on stays open automatically. If you fold a different group, a small dot on its heading means "something in here is still relevant," not "nothing to see."

The top bar

On every screen size, the bar across the top carries your notification bell — one bell, one unread count, always reachable without opening the sidebar first. On a phone, it also carries the menu button that opens the sidebar as a slide-over; on a desktop the sidebar is simply always visible alongside the page.

Deeper pages still belong to their section

Opening a specific supplier's account, a patient's assessment, or one employee's HR record still lights up the sidebar entry you came from — Stock, Daily work, or Team respectively — even though the page itself isn't one of the top-level entries. That's deliberate: it answers "where am I" in terms of the section you're working in, not the exact URL.
