Cookie Policy

What cookies and local storage Medical Horus actually uses today (very little), the categories reserved for future use, and how to set your preferences at any time.

Effective: Sep 28, 2026

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. "Local storage" is a similar browser feature used to keep small pieces of information on your device between visits, without automatically sending that information back to a server with every request the way a cookie does. This Policy covers both, and any similar technology we may use now or in future.

2. How Medical Horus Uses Cookies and Local Storage Today

We keep this section honest and specific to what actually happens today, not what might happen in future.

  • We do not use tracking or advertising cookies of any kind.
  • Your login session is kept using an authentication token stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.
  • We do not use any analytics service, and we do not use any advertising or marketing technology.
  • Our hosting provider's infrastructure may, independently of us, set a technical cookie needed simply to route your connection to the right server (for example, a load-balancing cookie). This is not something we configure directly, and it does not track you across other sites.

3. Cookie Categories

Even though most categories below have little or nothing in them today, we describe all four here because the Platform reserves the right to introduce optional functional or analytics storage in future, and we want you to understand, in advance, how each category will be handled.

CategoryPurposeUsed today?Requires your consent?
Strictly NecessaryTechnologies required for the Platform to function or to keep it secure, such as infrastructure-level routing.Only at the hosting-infrastructure level described above; we do not set any of our own.No — exempt by law, but still disclosed here.
FunctionalRemembering your preferences, such as language or display theme. Not used today — your language and theme choices are currently kept in local storage tied to your device, not as an opt-in cookie category.Yes, if introduced.
AnalyticsUnderstanding, in aggregate, how the Platform is used, to improve it.Not used today.Yes, if introduced.
Marketing / AdvertisingShowing you relevant advertising or measuring marketing campaigns. Not used today, and we have no current plans to introduce advertising technology.Yes, if introduced.

Except for Strictly Necessary items, nothing is switched on for you by default, nothing is pre-ticked, and each category above will only ever be activated for you if you actively choose to turn it on.

4. The Consent Banner and Preference Centre

When you first visit the Platform — including before you create an account — you are shown a cookie/preference banner that lets you Accept All, Reject All (beyond what is strictly necessary), or Customise your choice category by category. Your choice is recorded and respected from then on.

5. Changing Your Choice

You can change your cookie preferences at any time, for any category, by reopening the preference centre (available from the site footer or your account settings). Changing your choice takes effect immediately for future visits.

6. Third-Party Cookies

We do not currently embed any third-party service that sets cookies in your browser (no analytics pixels, no advertising networks, no social-media widgets). If this changes, we will update this Policy and extend the preference centre to cover the new provider before it is switched on for you.
